Day 1: Welcome to lively Marrakech!

  • Welcome to Marrakech, one of the four former imperial cities of Morocco! You will arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport and be transferred to your acccn.modation. After checking in and recovering from your travels, set out to explore the bustling souks of the old medina and enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine at your welcome dinner.
  • The day is at your leisure to take in the rich and vibrant surroundings.

Day 2:

  • Drive to Casablanca and stop at the Hassan II Mosque. The striking splendor of Africa's largest mosque invites you to pause and marvel! Continue to Rabat and enjoy a half-day city tour. This Atlantic metropolis, home to millions of people, has been the capital of Morocco since 1912. Modern and understated by Moroccan standards, Rabat has much to offer. For example, the picturesque Kasbah Oudaya, which enchants with its romantic alleyways, souvenir shops, and charming cates.

Day 3:

  • TRANSPORT
  • Rabat - Fez
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Travel from Rabat via Meknes to Fes. The journey from Rabat to Fes offers a glimpse into the diverse landscapes and rich culture of Morocco. The journey covers approximately 200 kilometers and takes about 2 to 3 hours. On the way, you will visit Meknes, where you will explore the Mausoleum of Mulai Ismail with the adjacent mosque and the Medina. The old town dates back to the 10th century.
  • A long wall with impressive gates still marks the former boundaries of the city center. Please note that some attractions in Menès are currently closed due to renovations. These may not be cannet be visited.

Day 4:

  • ACTIVITY
  • Full day tour in Fez.
  • The visitor magnet of the Holy City of Fez is the terraced old town of Fez el Bali. Frankincense and gilded Entrance portals behind which true treasures are hidden.
  • The Medina is home to many traditional cafés and restaurants, and the winding alleys are perfect for browsing for beautiful handicrafts.
  • Brass lamps, soaps, carvings, textiles, and, above all, leather goods in all shapes and colors. The tanneries of Fez were already famous in the Middle Ages.
  • Overnight stay at Palais Amani

Day 5:

  • Beakfast at the hotel.
  • A spectacular drive towards the Middle Atlas to Midelt. You'll stop in Ifrane, the "Switzerland of Morocco." and at the cedar forests south of Azrou to see the catary macaques living there. Before the 20th century, there was no permanent settlement in the garrison town of Milet. Pale, the Alize ribe migrated here for winter pasture. Today, the population consists almost entirely of Berbers, most of whom migrated from the surrounding mountain regions.
  • 2 hours hike in the afternoon in Midelt with a local guide

Day 6:

  • Midelt - Merzouga
  • On the way to the High Atlas Mountains, you'll have the opportunity to visit the palm forests and the Liz Gorge before traveling to Merzouga, on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Estimated travel time: 4 hours, depending on stops.

Day 7:

  • ACTIVITY
  • Merzouga
  • After breakfast, you will meet the camel team and hike through the great dunes of Erg Chebbi to the desert camp where you will have lunch.
  • The afternoon is at your leisure at camp. You have the opportunity to climb to the top of the dunes to watch the sunsel— an opportunity you shouldn't miss. Dinner will be served at camp, after which you can gaze at the spectacular desert sky filled with stars.

Day 8:

  • Merzouga - Dades
  • Wake up early to witness the birth of a new day from the nearest dune.
  • Ater breakfast, you'll depart from Merzouga to Dades. Along the foothills of the High Atlas, past palm trees and oases, the journey takes you to the Todra Gorges, which you should visit before continuing on to the Gorges du Dades with their impressive rock formations.
  • In the Todra Gorge, it's a sublime experience to be caught between a rock and a hard place, where a 300-meter-deep fault splits the orange limestone into a deep ravine, in places just wide enough for a crystal-clear river and hikers to squeeze through in single file. From Tinghir, the road passes verdant palm groves and Berber villages until high walls of pink and gray rock surround the road for 15 kilometers.

  • Trekking in the Dades Valley
  • The Dades Valley in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains offers a breathtaking experience for nature lovers and adventurers. The valley is famous for its dramatic landscapes, ancient kasbahs (fortified villages), and the Dades Gorge with its impressive rock formations.
  • The hike leads through the Dades Gorge, a deep gorge with steep rock walls carved by the Dades River. The colorful rock layers and winding roads through the gorge offer breathtaking views.
  • The valley is home to impressive rock formations, often called "monkey fingers" due to their unusual shapes.
  • The contrast between the dry, barren mountains and the lush green oases in the valley is unique. A walk through palm groves and small Villages gives you a glimpse into the traditional way of life in this region. Overnight and dinner at the Kasbah La Perle du Dades

Day 10:

  • DADES - AÏT BEN HADDOU
  • The ride from Dades (Dades Valley) to Aït Ben Haddou is a beautiful journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the country, crossing part of the High Atlas Mountains and eventually arriving in one of the most famous Kasbahs.
  • On the way there you will see an oasis with palm groves. Skoura is known for its ancient kasbahs and huge date palm plantations. It is a great place to stop and admire the traditional southern Moroccan architecture.
  • Ouarzazate: Ouarzazate, the "gate to the desert", is a must for film lovers. The city served as the setting for many famous movies and television series, and the Atlas Studios is a popular place. You can also visit the Kasbah of Taourirt here.
  • Aït Ben Haddou: This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an ancient fortified village (Ksar) made of mud bricks. It is incredibly photogenic and has already served as the backdrop for films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. The Ksar consists of towers, narrow streets and houses overlooking the surrounding desert landscape.

Day 11:

  • AÏT BEN HADDOU - TAROUDANT
  • The distance from Aït Ben Haddou to Taroudant is about 270 kilometers (167 miles), depending on which route you choose. As a rule, the journey takes about 5 hours.
  • The trip from Aït Ben Haddou to Taroudant offers a rich mix of Moroccan history, natural beauty and cultural experiences. Whether you're crossing the dramatic Atlas Mountains or stopping in small towns like Taliouine, it's a journey full of remarkable sights and unforgettable encounters. The peaceful ambience of Taroudant is the perfect end to your road trip and offers both history and relaxation.

Day 12:

  • TAROUDANT - ESSAOUIRA
  • Drive towards the coast and banana plantations that surround the city of Agadir before driving along the coast to the beautiful coastal town of Essaouira. 4-5 hours.
  • Free time in the coastal city of Essaouira: Essaouira is probably one of the most enchanting cities in Morocco.
  • Morocco, whose origins lie in Berber, Portuguese and French architecture. It was already in the 7th. century BC by the Romans and possibly the Phoenicians.
  • The Romans harvested shells here for the imperial purple dye. The old fortress was an important trading port throughout its history and still has a thriving fishing port.
  • Fishing Port: When you take a walk down to the sea, you will be amazed at the dazzling mass of iridescent fishing boats, all painted in a bright blue.

Day 13:

  • Walk through the Medina
  • The Medina of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is perfect for a leisurely walk. Stroll through the narrow streets lined with colourful shops, craft shops and cafés. The medina has a unique blend of Moroccan and European influences.
  • Relaxing on the beach
  • The beach of Essaouira is wide, airy and perfect for a quiet day outdoors. You can rent a deck chair or just take a walk along the shore. The strong winds make it a popular place for kitesurfing, but it is also ideal for watching sunsets.

Day 14:

  • Explore the Skala de la Ville
  • This fortress with its iconic cannons pointing to the Atlantic Ocean is an ideal place for a relaxing walk with magnificent views of the sea. You can also admire the impressive stone walls that surround the city.
  • Enjoy fresh seafood
  • The port of Essaouira offers some of the freshest seafood. You can enjoy grilled fish right by the water. The harbour area is alive, and it can be a calming experience to watch the fishermen at work or watch the seagulls circling over the city.
  • Visit a hammam
  • Treat yourself to a traditional Moroccan hammam (steam bath) to relax and unwind. Many riads and hotels offer wellness services, and a hammam visit can give you a feeling of refreshment.

Day 15:

  • Drive from the Atlantic coast to the High Atlas Mountains. The small village of Imlil is located in the High Atlas Mountains, about 70 km south of Marrakech, and is a starting point for hikers who set off for Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. It is known for its breathtaking mountain landscape, the traditional Berber culture and as a starting point for various hikes.

  • 1-day trekking in Imlil, breathtaking landscapes, traditional Berber villages and quiet mountain paths

Day 17:

  • Drive from Imlil to the Ourika Valley (approx. 1.5 hours), visit the Anima gardens and lunch at the Paradis du Safran.
  • The saffron paradise on the Ourika-Straße in Marrakech is an organic saffron farm run by the sympathetic Swiss and Morocco lover Christine Ferrari. Here you can learn everything about saffron and about medicinal and spice plants. The gardens invite you to a walk full of aromas, which is commented by the mistress of the house. Day 18:

  • FREE DAY IN MARRAKECH
  • Explore the souks: Stroll through the labyrinthine souks in the medina. Here you can browse for handmade items, textiles, spices and souvenirs. Perhaps you will discover treasures such as Berber carpets, leather goods and jewelry.
